Firstly sorry for the late update. The MAG 2010 National Championships were held at the AIS in Canberra 12-17 July. The comp was supported by the top MAG gymnasts in the country. Our very own Cade Pettie, Fergus Macdonald, Shamus Geraghty & Corey Chubb were selected to represent Victoria. Cade, Fergus & Shamus competed at Level 6 under and Corey competed at Level 7 open. The boys all competed solidly with only the odd mishap - Cade......what happened on rings?? Unfortunately Cades fall on rings cost him a very high final placing - Next time Cade. Overall Victoria achieved a Silver with QLD taking Gold and NSW placing 3rd. Individual results as follows: Cade Pettie - 10th Place overall in the country - good on you Cade with Fergus & Shamus working hard and placing solidly. Individual Apparatus as follows: Vault - Cade 4th, P.Bars - Cade 8th & H.Bar - Cade 7th. All of the boys competed solidly and have done the club proud. WELL DONE BOYS.
A very big Thank You to all the participating clubs, parents, spectators and gymnasts for making the Balance Challenge a great success. Well Done Girls !!

What a fantastic result and effort at the recent WAG Australian Championships held at the Challenge Stadium in Perth WA. Victoria as a team absolutely wiped the floor in the IDP 6 division. 1st Victoria, 2nd NSW & 3rd WA. Our very own Karla Danelutti has had a great result at this competition at this level - Karla achieved a 3rd on Vault and 7th on Bars - what a great result when you consider the level of competition at the event. A big congratulations goes to Natasha Kazmierczak for giving a solid performance throughout the comp whilst coming back from injury - and also achieving a personal best on Vault - well done Natasha. Interestingly enough though - Victoria is the only team not fully made of girls from the states relevant institute of sport - ie: Victoria's team was made of of girls from HPC (VIS), Waverley Gymnastics club, MLC and of course Balance. Well done to Eliza Freeman (Waverley IDP6) for a absolutely fantastic result overall. CONGRATULATIONS VICTORIA.
Just a quick note to wish Corey Chubb, Shamus Geraghty, Fergus Macdonald & Cade Pettie a big good LUCK at the Mens Aristic Gymnastics Australian Championships this week, being held at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra. The boys left today (Saturday 10th July) under the supervision of Dianna Pettie - who has taken on the challenge of driving the boys up and back - well done Di. Keep up to date with the boys progress via the Gymnastics Australia website.
PS: Balance is supplying half of the Victorian State Level 6 team - go get em Yuri.
